Oct 25, 2020 ,  11:31AM Country's COVID-19 recovery rate reaches 90 per cent Tweeted by @COVIDNewsByMIB India has crossed a significant milestone in its fight against COVID, as the recovery rate has reached 90 per cent yesterday. Over 70 lakh 78 thousand patients have recovered from this highly infectious disease in the country so far. The active caseload of the country has also fallen below 8.5 per cent. The total positive cases in the country today stands at six lakh 68 thousand 154 which comprises merely 8.49 per cent of the total reported cases. With a high number of COVID patients recovering every day along with a steadily falling and sustained low mortality rate, India’s trend of decreasing active cases continues. The recovered cases are nearly 10.6 times more than the active cases. Oct 25, 2020 ,  7:46AM Last date for filing of Income Tax and GST returns extended till 31st of December REPRESENTATIONAL IMAGE Government has extended the due date for filing GST Annual Return in FORM GSTR-9 and GSTR-9A and Reconciliation Statement  in FORM GSTR-9C for Financial Year 2018-19 from 31st October to 31st December, 2020. Filing of Annual Return (FORM GSTR-9 and  GSTR-9A) for 2018-19 is optional for taxpayers who had aggregate turnover below 2 crore rupees. The filing of Reconciliation Statement in FORM 9C for 2018-19 is also optional for the taxpayers having aggregate turnover upto 5 crore rupees. Government had received a number of representations regarding the need to extend the due date for filing Annual Return and Reconciliation Statement for 2018-19 on the ground that due to COVID-19 pandemic related lockdown and restrictions, normal operation of businesses have still not been possible in several parts of the country.

Oct 25, 2020 ,  7:41AM Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan says Corona vaccine likely be available in country by January 2021 Screen Grab (DD NEWS ) Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has expressed hope that Covid-19 vaccine will be made available in the country by January next year. Speaking at a programme on DD News, Dr Vardhan said  there are three vaccine candidates in India, out of which one is at the advanced stage of clinical trial of phase-3. The other two vaccine candidates, which are in clinical trial of phase-2, one has recently entered the third phase trial. Dr Vardhan also said, if the preparations in this regard  made so far progress well then 400 to 500 million doses of the Covid vaccine will be available in the country before June and July of next year. Dr Harsh Vardhan also appealed to the people to follow Covid appropriate behaviour to check the spread of virus in view of the coming festive seasons.

It will be the 70th episode of the monthly radio programme. It will be broadcast on the entire network of AIR and Doordarshan and also on AIR News website  www.newsonair.com  and newsonair Mobile App. It will also be streamed live on the YouTube channels of AIR, DD News, PMO and Information and Broadcasting Ministry. AIR will broadcast the programme in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast. The regional language versions will be repeated at eight in the evening.
