Eid-ul-Azha being celebrated across country today

The festival of sacrifice, Eid-ul-Azha or Bakrid is being celebrated with religious fervour and due reverence across the country today. There will be no mass congregations prayers in Eidgahs and Grand mosques in most of the places in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

The faithfuls will offer Eid prayers in local mosques and in their homes in compliance with lockdown norms and guidelines issued to contain covid-19

Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his only son in obedience of God's command.

In Kerala, Eid- ul- Azha was celebrated yesterday.

Feb 10, 2021 ,  8:46PM Massive rescue and search operation continues in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand AIR Pics In Uttarakhand, a team of more than 800 personnel comprising various forces including marines from Navy continued rescue and search operation throughout the day at the calamity site in Chamoli district. Two more bodies were recovered today and the death toll has reached 34 now. AIR Correspondent covering the calamity reports that around 170 people are still missing and some of them are feared to be trapped in the tunnel. Around 170 people are still missing and 25 to 35 persons are feared to be trapped in the tunnel. The herculean effort to reach the trapped people through the slush and heavy boulders continued on the fourth consecutive day at the calamity site in Chamoli district.
