New National Education Policy-2020 will establish India as superpower of knowledge at world stage: Ramesh Pokhriyal

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank today said, the new National Education Policy-2020 will pave the way for the revolutionary change in school and higher education systems in the country. He said, this policy will establish India as a superpower of knowledge at the world stage.
 
 In an exclusive interview with AIR News today, Mr. Nishank said, the aim of this new education policy is to open the door of opportunity for every child so that their holistic development can be ensured.
 
The Minister said, focus will be given to the extra-curricular activities and skill development of the children from the class 6th so that they attain skills by the end of class 12th. He said, interdisciplinary studies will be promoted in higher education by making it more flexible.
 
Mr. Nishank said, a Higher Education Commission will be set up which will subsume the educational bodies like UGC, NCTE and AICTE. He said, a National Research Foundation will also be set up which will promote research and development in the country. He said, the National Education Policy will become instrumental in creating a New India.

11 per cent GDP growth projected by Economic Survey 2020-21 for next financial year

Economic Survey 2020-21 has projected  GDP growth for the next financial year at 11 per cent. It has suggested that the growth recovery will be driven by government consumption. The Economic Survey  2020-21, tabled by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Lok Sabha today suggested that the net exports and government consumption have cushioned the growth from further plunge. It says that the GDP for the current financial year is estimated to contract by 7.7 per cent. It further says that the nominal GDP for the next fiscal is expected to grow at 15.4 per cent. The Economic Survey gave a detailed analysis of India's V-shaped economic recovery after the shadow effect of the corona pandemic. It says that the mega vaccination drive supports the V-shaped recovery.
