A Brigade Commander-level Flag Meeting between Indian Army and People's Liberation Army of China is in progress at Chushul to discuss PLA troops provocative military movements.

Indian Army today said that PLA troops violated the previous consensus arrived at during military and diplomatic engagements during the ongoing standoff in Eastern Ladakh.

Chinese troops carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo in the intervening night of 29th August and 30th August.

However, Indian troops pre-empted this activity on the Southern Bank of Pangong Tso Lake.

Army undertook measures to strengthen its positions to thwart Chinese intentions to unilaterally change facts on ground.

The Indian Army said, it is committed to maintaining peace and tranquillity through dialogue, but is also equally determined to protect its territorial integrity.
