EAM S Jaishankar calls for comprehensive convention on terrorism

External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar has said that there is a lack of comprehensive convention on terrorism. Speaking at the 19th Darbari Seth Memorial Lecture organized by The Energy and Resources Institute today, Dr Jaishankar said, terrorism is a cancer that affects everyone just as pandemics potentially impact all humanity.
 
United Nations Chief Antonio Guterres delivered the 19th Darbari Seth Memorial lecture, organized by TERI, a global think-tank. The think tank is focusing on a broad range of sustainable development and climate-related issues.

Feb 10, 2021 ,  8:46PM Massive rescue and search operation continues in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand AIR Pics In Uttarakhand, a team of more than 800 personnel comprising various forces including marines from Navy continued rescue and search operation throughout the day at the calamity site in Chamoli district. Two more bodies were recovered today and the death toll has reached 34 now. AIR Correspondent covering the calamity reports that around 170 people are still missing and some of them are feared to be trapped in the tunnel. Around 170 people are still missing and 25 to 35 persons are feared to be trapped in the tunnel. The herculean effort to reach the trapped people through the slush and heavy boulders continued on the fourth consecutive day at the calamity site in Chamoli district.
