PMJDY is foundation stone for people-centric economic initiatives: FM

On the sixth anniversary of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana scheme, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana has been the foundation stone for the Modi government’s people-centric economic initiatives. 

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that over 63 per cent of the account holders are from rural areas. In a tweet, Mr Javadekar said, over 40 crore 35 lakh bank accounts have been opened under the scheme since its inception.

Feb 10, 2021 ,  8:46PM Massive rescue and search operation continues in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand AIR Pics In Uttarakhand, a team of more than 800 personnel comprising various forces including marines from Navy continued rescue and search operation throughout the day at the calamity site in Chamoli district. Two more bodies were recovered today and the death toll has reached 34 now. AIR Correspondent covering the calamity reports that around 170 people are still missing and some of them are feared to be trapped in the tunnel. Around 170 people are still missing and 25 to 35 persons are feared to be trapped in the tunnel. The herculean effort to reach the trapped people through the slush and heavy boulders continued on the fourth consecutive day at the calamity site in Chamoli district.
