Govt procures Kharif 2020-21 crops at its MSP from farmers for over Rs. 33,951 crore

Government continues to procure Kharif 2020-21 crops at its MSP from farmers as per its existing MSP Schemes in the ongoing Kharif Marketing Season. 

Paddy procurement for Kharif Marketing Season 2020-21 is continuing smoothly in the procuring States and UTs of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala and Gujarat. Purchase of over 179.827 LMTs of paddy has been done upto yesterday against last year's corresponding purchase of 143.47LMT. 

This is an increase of 25.34 percent over last year. Out of the total purchase of 179.83 LMT,  Punjab alone has contributed 122.22 LMT which translates to 67.97 percent of total procurement. 

About 15.12 lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the ongoing KMS procurement operations with MSP value of over 33,951 crore rupees.
