HM Amit Shah says, Covid-19 pandemic time was utilised in making major policy decisions & latest GDP figures show encouraging results
Virtually inaugurating two flyovers in Ahmedabad Mr. Shah said that Government has taken a series of long term policy decisions whether it is farm sector, electricity or tax reforms. He said that latest GDP figures are encouraging and hopefully it will be in positive territory in the coming days.
Union Home Minister said that Gujarat has already achieved the electricity consumption and GST collection of pre-covid level. He said that Gujarat is also leading the country in getting the highest GDP number despite Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Shas said that Gujarat has maintained its first position in all sectors, whether it is to connect the ports, connect the pilgrimages, to connect the industrial townships or to connect the biggest railway stations with the state.
Mr. Shah said that the work of connecting all means of transportation has begun under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that he was happy that the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel are taking these works forward in Gujarat. He said that the state Government has made successful efforts for keeping the state on the top in the country in the infrastructure sector. Mr. Shah said that Gujarat is the first in the country to provide 24 hours of electricity in the villages. He said that Gujarat is the pioneer in setting up the best health infrastructure in the country. Gujarat is also a pioneer to initiate alternative energies like wind power and solar power in the country. He congratulated the state government that despite the Covid19 pandemic, the pace of infrastructure development was not stopped.
AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that Mr. Shah has e-dedicated two flyovers in Ahmedabad virtually. The first 245 meter long Sindhu Bhavan flyover has been built at the cost of Rs. 35 crore, while the second 240 meter Sanand junction flyover has been built at the cost of Rs. 36 crore.
