Nation pays homage to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's on his birth anniversary and 'Good Governance day'
On the occasion of the 96th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mr. Modi released a book titled ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Parliament: A Commemorative Volume’, highlighting the life and works of the former Prime Minister.
Lok Sabha Speaker OM Birla, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and several Members of Parliament were present on the occasion.
President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Sadaiv Atal memorial in New Delhi today. Union Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, Hardeep Singh Puri, Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla among others also paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister.
Today, on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the nation also celebrated Good Governance day. 25th December is celebrated as Good Governance Day every year to create awareness of accountability in government among the citizens of India.
On the occasion, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri today launched E-Sampada,a new web portal and mobile app. The new application provides a single window for all the services including allotment for over one lakh government residential accommodations, office space allotment to government organisations in 45 office complexes in 28 cities and booking of one thousand 176 holiday home rooms. The portal provides online facility to users across India to lodge complaints, submit documents and appear for virtual hearing.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Puri said this is a significant step towards promotion of e-governance to enhance transparency and accountability in providing various estate services like allotment, retention, regularisation and no dues certificate.
In another function, Home Secretary and Secretary of DoPT, A K Bhalla released the progress report of e-HRMS (Electronic-Human Resource Management System). e-HRMS was launched by Minister for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh on 25th December, 2017 and it had 25 applications of 5 modules of the system.
Releasing the e-brochure, Mr Bhalla said, it will become a good and effective tool for all the ministries in times to come. He said, application of Artificial Intelligence tools will greatly help in policy making and in handling matters related to personnel. The Home Secretary said, there is a need to popularise the e-HRMS in other ministries for its use in a comprehensive manner.
With the advanced version of e-HRMS, employees will be able to see all their details like service book, leave, GPF and Salary. They can also use it for different kinds of claims or reimbursements, loan or advances, leave, leave encashment, LTC advances and Tour on a single platform.
