External affairs Minister and his US counterpart discuss ways to strengthen ties between two countries

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has had a telephonic conversation with US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken. Dr Jaishankar warmly congratulated Secretary Blinken on his appointment and wished him success in his new responsibilities. Both leaders expressed their commitment to consolidate and expand the multi-faceted strategic partnership.

They appreciated the robust defence and security ties, growing economic engagement, productive health-care collaboration and strong people-to-people linkages as its important pillars.

Recognising the challenges of a post-Covid world, they agreed to work together to address global issues, including safe and affordable vaccine supply.

They also reiterated their commitment to peace and security, especially in the Indo-Pacific region.

Feb 10, 2021 ,  8:46PM Massive rescue and search operation continues in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand AIR Pics In Uttarakhand, a team of more than 800 personnel comprising various forces including marines from Navy continued rescue and search operation throughout the day at the calamity site in Chamoli district. Two more bodies were recovered today and the death toll has reached 34 now. AIR Correspondent covering the calamity reports that around 170 people are still missing and some of them are feared to be trapped in the tunnel. Around 170 people are still missing and 25 to 35 persons are feared to be trapped in the tunnel. The herculean effort to reach the trapped people through the slush and heavy boulders continued on the fourth consecutive day at the calamity site in Chamoli district.
