Prime Minister inaugurates various railway projects in West Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the extended service of Kolkata Metro Rail between Noapara and Dakshineshwar, this evening. The 4.1-kilometre long stretch of Metro Rail has been constructed at a cost of Rs 464 crore. The much-awaited extension linked the two world-famous Kali temples at Kalighat and Dakshineswar.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated and dedicated to the nation new lines of Eastern and South Eastern Railways. Mr Modi said, the common people including students will be benefited from the extension of Metro.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal were also present in the programme. Earlier, the Railway Minister also visited Dakshineswar Metro Station and paid a visit to Kalighat temple also.
