Cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in country crosses 6.43 crore

The Union Health Ministry in a statement said, a total of 6 crore 43 lakh 58 thousand 765 vaccine doses have been given so far. These include over 82 lakh 47 thousand Healthcare workers who have taken the first dose and over 52 lakh 38 thousand Healthcare workers took the second dose. Besides, over 91 lakh 34 thousand Frontline workers have taken the first dose while more than 39 lakh 23 thousand Frontline workers received the second dose of COVID vaccine.
 
Over three crore beneficiaries of 60 years above received the first dose and more than 86 thousand got the second dose. Whereas more than 76 lakh 74 thousand beneficiaries aged 45 and above with comorbidities took the first dose and more than 13 thousand were given the second dose.  The Ministry said, a total 13 lakh 4 thousand 412 vaccine doses were given till 7 pm yesterday on the Seventy fifth day of nationwide COVID19 vaccination.
