PM Modi to hold talks with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka today; Several MoUs likley to be exchanged and agreements be signed during the meeting
Earlier yesterday, Prime Minister Modi and Sheikh Hasina jointly inaugurated the Bangabandhu-Bapu digital exhibition in Dhaka.
Prime Minister Modi addressed the National Day celebration of Bangladesh at the Parade square in Dhaka on Friday. In his address on the occasion he paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and the martyrs of both Bangladesh and India who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War of 1971. He said that the bond of friendship between India and Bangladesh is based on shared sacrifice which can never be broken by any force. He said that joint advancement of India and Bangladesh is equally urgent for the development of the whole region.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her address lauded India’s role in the liberation of Bangladesh. She said India is inextricably linked to Bangladesh’s birth. She urged India to take a leading role in developing a politically stable and economically vibrant South Asia in line with India’s neighbourhood first policy.
