India Meteorological Department, IMD has said that Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha and West Bengal were much-affected places due to Cyclone Yaas. Briefing media in New Delhi, Director General, IMD Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said, Odisha recorded highest rainfall and sea waves of two to four-meter high were recorded in North Odisha and adjoining districts of West Bengal.

He said, due to cyclone Yaas, huge rainfall was recorded. Mr Mohapatra said, the track length of Cyclone Tautae was one thousand 800 kilometre while cyclone the track length of Yaas is one thousand Kilometre.
