DGCA extends suspension of scheduled international passenger flights till 30th June in view of COVID pandemic

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, DGCA today said that suspension of scheduled international passenger flights has been extended till 30th June in view of COVID-19 pandemic. In a circular, the aviation regulator said, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis. DGCA said, the suspension does not affect international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by it.
 
Scheduled international passenger services have been suspended in India since 23rd March last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. But special international flights have been operating under the Vande Bharat Mission since May last year. Special international flights have also been operating under bilateral air bubble arrangements with selected countries since July last year. India has formed air bubble pacts with around 27 countries.

11 per cent GDP growth projected by Economic Survey 2020-21 for next financial year

Economic Survey 2020-21 has projected  GDP growth for the next financial year at 11 per cent. It has suggested that the growth recovery will be driven by government consumption. The Economic Survey  2020-21, tabled by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Lok Sabha today suggested that the net exports and government consumption have cushioned the growth from further plunge. It says that the GDP for the current financial year is estimated to contract by 7.7 per cent. It further says that the nominal GDP for the next fiscal is expected to grow at 15.4 per cent. The Economic Survey gave a detailed analysis of India's V-shaped economic recovery after the shadow effect of the corona pandemic. It says that the mega vaccination drive supports the V-shaped recovery.
