National COVID-19 recovery rate further improves to 90.80 pct; 1.73 lakh new cases reported yesterday

The National Covid-19 recovery rate has further improved to 90.80 per cent. At 1.73 lakh daily new cases, the declining trend in new cases is being maintained. The daily new cases are the lowest in the last 45 days. In the last 24 hours, 3 thousand 617 deaths were reported. With this death toll due to the pandemic has reached 3 lakh 22 thousand 512. Under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, 20.89 Crore Vaccine Doses have been administered so far. In the last 24 hours, over 30 lakh 62 thousand vaccine doses were administered.

Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said, over 34 crore11 lakh 19 thousand samples were tested till yesterday. It said, over 20 lakh 80 thousand samples were tested yesterday.

11 per cent GDP growth projected by Economic Survey 2020-21 for next financial year

Economic Survey 2020-21 has projected  GDP growth for the next financial year at 11 per cent. It has suggested that the growth recovery will be driven by government consumption. The Economic Survey  2020-21, tabled by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Lok Sabha today suggested that the net exports and government consumption have cushioned the growth from further plunge. It says that the GDP for the current financial year is estimated to contract by 7.7 per cent. It further says that the nominal GDP for the next fiscal is expected to grow at 15.4 per cent. The Economic Survey gave a detailed analysis of India's V-shaped economic recovery after the shadow effect of the corona pandemic. It says that the mega vaccination drive supports the V-shaped recovery.
