Jammu Police averts major terror attack by Lashkar-e-Taiba operative

The Jammu Police averted a major terror attack and recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) which was to be used to target a crowded area by an operative of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
 
According to Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh, this IED was received by LeT outfit operative and was to be planted at some crowded place.
 
He said, the suspect is being interrogated.
 
More suspects are likely to be picked up in this foiled IED blast attempt.
 
The recovery of such a huge cache of explosive material has averted a major terror attack in Jammu, which was earlier today rocked by a drone attack.

Two more bodies were recovered today and the death toll has reached 34 now. AIR Correspondent covering the calamity reports that around 170 people are still missing and some of them are feared to be trapped in the tunnel.
