Parliamentary Standing Committee on IT summons Facebook and Google officials to appear before it today

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information and Technology has summoned Facebook India and Google India to appear before it today. The committee will hear the views of the companies about safeguarding the rights of the citizens and prevention of misuse of social or online news media platforms including special emphasis on women security in the digital space.
 
This comes days after representatives of Twitter appeared before the panel to discuss India’s new IT rules and how to stop the misuse of the platform.

Dec 20, 2020 ,  8:21AM Election Commission issues advisory on transfer and posting of officials in states where assembly elections are due next year AIR Pics Election Commission of India has issued advisory to Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry for transfer and posting of officers connected with conduct of assembly elections to be held next year. ECI has advised that government officers directly connected with the conduct of elections must not be posted in her or his home district. It said officers against whom the Commission had recommended disciplinary action in past and which is pending or which has resulted in a penalty or the officers who have been charged for any lapse in any election or election related work in the past, should not be assigned any election related duty. Apr 25, 2021 ,  2:10PM 551 oxygen generation plants to be set up in district government hospitals through PM CARES Tweeted by @AIR The Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund, PM CARES Fund has given in-principle approval for allocation of funds for installation of 551 dedicated Pressure Swing Adsorption, PSA Medical Oxygen Generation Plants inside public health facilities in the country. The decision is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction of boosting availability of oxygen to hospitals. The Prime Minister has directed that these plants should be made functional as soon as possible. He said that these plants will serve as a major boost to oxygen availability at the district level.
