PM Modi says, India accomplished unprecedented feat with administration of 86 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine in a single day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said India accomplished an unprecedented feat when a record number of vaccine doses were administered to over 86 lakh people in a single day.

Addressing the nation through his Mann Ki Baat programme on All India Radio, Mr Modi said the country achieved this feat on the 21st of June, when the next phase of vaccination campaign commenced. The Prime Minister said this became a topic for discussion everywhere as such a huge number of free vaccinations was administered by the government in a single day.

ECI has advised that government officers directly connected with the conduct of elections must not be posted in her or his home district. It said officers against whom the Commission had recommended disciplinary action in past and which is pending or which has resulted in a penalty or the officers who have been charged for any lapse in any election or election related work in the past, should not be assigned any election related duty. The decision is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction of boosting availability of oxygen to hospitals. The Prime Minister has directed that these plants should be made functional as soon as possible. He said that these plants will serve as a major boost to oxygen availability at the district level.
