Basavraj Bommai becomes New CM of Karnataka

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai is elected by the legislative party in  a meeting held at Bengaluru under the observation of Union Ministers Dharnendra Pradhan and G Kishan Reddy. Basavaraj Bommai  will be the successor of B S Yediyurappa who had stepped down yesterday due to age factor.

Basavaraj Bommai is three time MLA from Shegaon in Haveri district in North Karnataka and was the Home Minister and Parliamentary Affairs Minister in the Yediyurappa Cabinet. He is considered a close confidant of Yediyurappa, Bommai will be the 20th Chief Minister of the State.
