It said that further one crore 37 thousand 990 doses are in the pipeline. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced on the 21st of June this year. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, advanced visibility of vaccine availability to States and Union Territories for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain. As part of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the government has been supporting the States and Union Territories by providing them COVID vaccines free of cost.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed media persons regarding the development in Guwahati today. Mr Sarma said that, unlike past years, this time ULFA has not called for ‘Bandh’ or boycott of Independence Day celebrations. He appreciated this move and said, this is a very positive sign towards establishing peace in the state. Among the personnel receiving Gallantry Awards, 256 are from J&K Police, 151 are from Central Reserve Police Force and 23 are from Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force.

In a press release, RBI said the bank has been directed to cease all its operations from 13th August. As informed by the Reserve Bank of India, the license of Karnala Nagari Sahakari Bank was canceled due to insufficient capital and earning prospects and its continuance would have adversely affected depositors. RBI has added that the Commissioner for Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Maharashtra has also been requested to issue an order for winding up the bank and appoint a liquidator for the bank. RBI has informed that 95 percent of the depositors will receive full amounts of their deposits from Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation. Nearly 56 lakh Vaccine Doses were administered yesterday. Five States Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than one Crore Cumulative Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in the age group 18-44 years. Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.

The thickness of plastic carry bags will be increased from fifty microns to seventy-five microns with effect from 30th September of next month and to 120 microns with effect from the 31st December of this year. Afghanistan Minister of Interior General Abdul Satar Mirzakwal said that Afghan forces are also focusing on trying to secure main highways, large cities and border crossings after the Taliban seized nine provincial capitals in less than a week. Gen. Mirzakwal said, the government was supporting local volunteer militias known as uprising movements.
